My Unit doesnt work, is noisy, the motor have not power, i ve cutted the wire with the propeller!!!

….Please Help!!

These are our daily inquiries , but no worries, the 99% of the issues have solution and if you are on the 1% we will give you the best solution to hit again the water asap.

To help you everyone on the best and fastest way you must do few tests depending on your issue, here is a list with common issues , tests and solutions.

My Remote doesn’t work:

– Check if the remote is connected to the box, there are few bars at the left top corner of the remote display showing the box signal.

—-My remote is connected but unit still doesn’t work:
—– Check if your remote is locked, to unlock press few seconds the top trigger.
—– Unplug and plug the batteries again, turn off and On the remote.

—- My remote is not connected to the Box:
—– Unplug the Batteries and Re-Pair the remote (Follow The Remote Guide Here)
——– I Cant pair the remote with the unit.:
———- Please be sure you are following the right processing , if you have another remote or friend remote , please try to Pair another one, if any solution works, we must check the unit at our workshop .

 

My unit Doesn’t Work:

– Check the first Point “My Remote doesn’t work”.
—- The remote is connected correctly but the motor doesn’t work.
—– Is the motor spining? Spinning partially ? Please Check the Point “My Motor is Very Noisy, Missing Power, Spinning once clockwise and then Reverse ….”
—— If the unit still doesn’t work, we have to check it at our workshop , please send us a email to support@flow-custom.com or whatsapp attaching pictures and / or videos of the issue, the whole setup installed and the batteries connected to the charger showing the 12 cell voltages.

 

My unit lost power:

– Check if the issue appear with other battery set.
– Check if the full power is delivered with the unit cold, the units have an over temperature safety, which will drop the power delivery until it cools down again, is usually happens after few minutes of E-foiling, but depends of many factors as weight, foil size, water and air temperatures ….
– Check if the motor is more noisy than usually, when a bearing or a motor wire is partially damaged (usually by cutted the wire with the propeller or after hard pull when falling if leash , brackets are not trimmed perfectly ), the noise appear, check the bearings, is they are ok , you must send us the unit to check at our workshop.

 

My Motor is Very Noisy, Missing Power, Spinning once clockwise and then Reverse ….

– Probably a bearing or a motor wire is partially damaged (usually by cut the wire with the propeller or after hard pull when falling if leash , brackets are not trimmed perfectly ), the noise appear, check the bearings.
If the bearings are fine, provably a motor wire is damaged:
— Motor doesn’t spin smooth, jumping, spins to one side then  reverse,  don’t even spin but it turns a little…
— Remove the propellers, keep the rotor installed, press the trigger gently and move the wires around the motor, if something change , one of the motor welding is damaged, you must send us the unit to our workshop.

 

My RUNTIME IS TOO SHORT…

If you feel your Runtime is too short (the batteries drain too fast) :

Beginners : If you are not used to ride motored foil, drain the batteries quite fast is completely normal and usual , we can consider as beginner everyone with less than 20 sessions of experience .

Battery capacity : Is the key of the runtime, depending on your Unit you will have shorter or longer runtime in general.

Recommendations:

Adjust your throttle remote to max 70%  (Or Medium on vx3 gps remote) this setup will help you a lot with the trigger sensibility , also decrease the consumption during take off, yes maybe you feel is not enough power but , thrust us, it is, this will help you to learn smooth take offs, take off is the more critical part and where the battery drain faster, leave the rest 30% for the future.

Use big foils, from 900cm2 above , and boards from 5´2″ to have easy take offs.

Once flying try to reduce the the throttle, move your weight backwards and find the balance using the less power possible.

Advanced : If you are advanced rider and you feel short runtime:

First to check is the battery , you can check the connected to the charger and look at the 12 cells voltages displayed, must be equal.

Use “Storage” Mode after 20 cicles of fast charging, this will keep the cells balanced (sometimes it will takes few hours)

With batteries well balanced and fully charged , go for a session , use the gear until the unit cut off the power, connect to the charger, check that voltages still equal, recharge the batteries, the charger will show you the total of mAh (capacity ) charged, it must be close to the battery capacity showed. (note , the batteries can keep the 80% of capacity after 500 cicles, up to 2000 if was carefully used, even carefully the batteries are not forever)
